DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

I created this documentary to offer an authentic look at what it means to be a teacher.  I did this to honor and celebrate the profession and also to educate the public about the vital role teachers play in society.

At this point, the teacher shortage threatens the foundation of our democracy, with the pandemic only adding to the daily challenges and deep frustrations faced by educators.

A steady decline became a mass exodus and now we're facing a critical shortage of people willing to take on this monumental task.

I'm fighting for a better future where all kids have teachers that are supported, well-equipped and justly compensated.

I'm fighting for this country and everyone in it.

Real change starts with education.
